By far the most important thing to consider is reliability and dependability. We use a small fleet of these trucks and all were deleted. And had to be. They were costing us far too much to maintain. Leaving us stranded in the middle of a days work. Tow bills, NOX sensors, def fluid, tank heaters, they all contribute to the fact that you are far better off to delete. Great video, however the most important understanding in making this decision was missed.
I currently own 3 GM vehicles from this generation: A 2005 Suburban 2500HD (8.1), a 2002 Silverado 1500, and - the crown jewel - a 2004 Hummer H2 Luxury package. I bought the Suburban with 110k miles (it currently has 210k), the Silverado with 137k (it currently has 179k), and the Hummer with 53k (it currently has 79k). I daily drive all three, and have done many long-distance road trips and family outings in both the Suburban and the Hummer. I occasionally tow with all three (nothing very heavy), and have done a fair amount of light off-roading with the Suburban and the Hummer. I used to have a 2003 Suburban 1500. I gave it to my daughter with 275k miles on it. It currently has 300k miles, and she is still driving it. These four vehicles have proven to be the toughest, and most reliable vehicles I have ever owned by FAR, in my total 35-ish years of vehicle ownership. In the case of the Suburban's specifically, also the most versatile and useful. GM really knocked it out of the park in the early 2000's.
Watched it one more time and heard you better thank you 🎉
So with this you don’t have to touch the egr this will by pass everything?
Hi, im from Ecuador, here, we have the Chevrolet trailblazer 2.8 duramax with 200hp and the 6L50E transmission....... its a brazilian enabled, in fact is the HOLDEN TRAILBLAZER 2.8 duramax of Australia! With your turbo kit, how many Horse power would increase or how much hp the engine can stand with the factory level?? And all the equipment that you provide, is compatible with that version??
The best turbo for all 6.7's is the Garrett off the 6.0!! It's a huge difference
Hey, you have my attention! I like both Ford and CHEVROLET!
My 05’ Duramax sounds as off the motor is blown when it starts cold at 60 degrees or so. Popping and knocking bad. As the engine runs it runs better. After 20 mins and engine temp at 180 or more it runs smooth. We have no great mechanics in Houston and my diesel mechanic is lost
But you can’t make it sound nice with the emissions
Wish yall had a mach 2 i would definately slap one on the 5th gen but nobody makes anything like that so everyone resorts to a diet and manifold swap and s400
Will this help the mpg or kill the mpg?
Pressure limiting valve is called.
I’m gona leave my stock intake on that not enough to make me spend money for that little hp
Ordered mine today 😊
Yeah I increased the power on my old Toyota diesel by 30% and it sounded better, felt much better, but you only noticed a huge power gain with the tv locked up. Changed my trans a bit to where it locks up half way through 2nd gear, then stays locked through overdrive, and it decreased by 0-60 by 2 seconds. Also gained me another 2mpg.
I own a 2017 GMC Canyon with a 2.8 diesel with 101,000 miles on it a think it’s great. GM really dropped the ball when sold the company that made it
It’s all about fuel economy. The government forces manufacturers to find ways to increase mileage. The more gears and more shifting the trans has to dk the more problems it’s going to have.
Can you do this on the international cv chassis?
How could a fuel pressure sensor be bad on a brand new lbz cp3 pump put in a lb7 duramax
Those tuning, stealth turbos, and transmission upgrades sound amazing. We sent you an email, take a look.
very informative, thanks
I would buy the 10 speed for towing....not drag racing. Smooth transitions both up and down shifting with the factory engineering setup on the 3500HD Duramax. Great reveiw.
Oh boy!! I got my wallet ready!
[keep, oil and oil filter and fuel filter changed. truck will out last you]👍
So when are you going to have the ECM unlocked so you can tune it? Especially for the 550 platform??
Tell that to the dealership they want to charge m3 $2,300.00 for changing a connector n putting the new code for the fuel injector I put on 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm looking into Steed Speed exhaust manifold (T3) but I believe you have to get a much larger turbo such as a S300 or S400 which will fit with that set up. Too big of a turbo for me and it looks like the VGT manifold will work just fine with your turbo, which I'm very much set on. Is there a way that I can use that T3 with your turbo? I use my truck as an everyday driver for now but plan on pulling a fifth wheel in the future. I'm simply trying to achieve 650hp with as little effort as possible... I want that good flow, in and out
What's the life of the stock turbo?
Essentially : Teach your Allison to behave Don't make your Allison teach you how to drain your bank account.
I would love to see a EGT and boost:drive comparison between the 19+ ram STR and Mach 1 @ 450hp and max effort
In the 68rfe 4th gear is direct drive why wouldn’t it go into limp in direct drive
Thank you. Good information, Now I lo know why my Turbo failed, and I thought it was just a bad remand from Freightliner
Im still having issues since purchased with my tunes! I Installed the the switch and loaded the tune and there is no difference between the tunes but the exhaust noises between each switch click. 😒 hope I can get some insight here.

What would you recommend for a 2017 3500 g56 efi live 5 position on a diet?
How do you use the truck?
@Duramaxtuner tow toyhauler chasing warm weather 5 months out of the year then just normal pickup travels during summer, No city driving. Towing 14k when traveling
@@Kevin-midmichigan I have basically the same truck as yourself, '17 2500 G56. First issue is these trucks are over geared. Mine came with 3.42s which means that 60MPH is a hard downshift point(1500rpm) due to the clutch(south bend organic twin) with 37s. I installed 4.11 gears so that it runs 2000rpm in 6th at 70, or basically the same final gearing as if you had a max tow auto. Running a 64mm VGT it pulls 14.5k up the 7% grades in Montana at 70(5th gear) and never goes over 1400 degrees.
@@Kevin-midmichigan An STR would be a great fit for what you have now. If you ever think you'll add an upgraded CP3 and/or injectors then I would reccomend our 64mm. Here's a video that might help understanding where the STR/64 fit based on your current and future HP goals. ua-cam.com/video/TjAedXy_o1E/v-deo.html
Which coolant source is going to the compressor housing? Coolant from the engine coolant system or from the low temperature cooling system?
BS, AFE supposed cold air with 1,000,000 mile filter went through a few filters and prefilters, then when I couldn't tow my boat up the Conejo grade, I went back to stock and the truck runs better, as far as the trans goes my 2000 auto went 450,000 miles towing a 10,000 lb dump trailer daily
Yes, why wasn't banks on it?
look up the c8 corvette build with a 8.1
Please give us a tune for 2024 Aison !!
Please help I own a rv 7.2 litre catapliar engine, I don't think it's the turbo but I'm no expert. What's happening is 1600 rpm to apx 2100 rpm I'm getting a whistling noise. Noticed when the engine gets a little hotter the whistling is still there but at a lower volume as if it's doing away. Is this turbo related? I cannot seam to find the issue. Please advise on any of your thoughts and thanks you. Jason from the UK 🇬🇧.
Curious. Have you switched out the CP4? I have a 2015 LML with 185,000 miles. I run Stanadyne Lubricity improver with every tank of fuel as I understand the problem with the CP4 to be lack of lubrication from the 2007 fuel mandate. I do pull a fifth wheel and I've pulled gooseneck trailers across the country. Would something like the FASS lift pump help?
copy/paste from the comment above: I bought this truck with a failed fuel system. We put a fresh set of injectors and CP4 in it along with a FASS lift pump. We install FASS lift pumps on most LML's that come through our shop. It's money well spent to help avoid catastrophic fuel system failure. Good fuel quality and zero air in the fuel system is key to keeping the CP4 alive.
@@nickpriegnitz5895 So the Dealer says I should do a fuel system clean. I'm concerned that introducing any kind of solvent to the fuel system would compromise the CP4. Thoughts?
Great look inside the turbo. Could a cts3 show a good sweep but not in fact getting it? I suspect my unison ring of being stuck but shows 0-100 sweeps.
The only way the position sensor can see a full sweep without the unison ring sweeping would be if the control slot in the unison ring is hogged out (happens often on 6.0 Fords) or if the unison ring drive gear set pin has sheared (only possible on 04.5-'10). Short answer, yes - it's possible.
No turbo sounds 😢
Great job Nick and the guys. My LBZ is at 283,000 on original turbo. I like how your tunes aren’t “smoky”. When mine fails I’m going to go with one of yours.
Thanks Fella!
You should dyno it and post it
Always want Duramax videos!! How about some LLY stuff!
We hear you, and agree. You're overdue for some LLY content
Does that LML still have the stock CP4? If it does, have you ran an aftermarket lift pump? I have a 2015 LML with 300,000 miles on it. Never had a lift pump stock seat before still runs great.

@@nickpriegnitz5895 thanks for the response.
Imagine this with a livernois dyno tune 🤤🔥
Was that test with a stock intake horn??
Iv got a 2011 lml you ever come across a Trans slipping due to a bad tune or know of any issues? Thx
